No, but whatever is not will just use the default textures, which still look just fine despite not being hd. There aren't that many incomplete things. Most of the major stuff is done. 06-12-2019, 07:51 AM
The real question is, will this pack ever get a serious update? It's sad to see great work like this go unfinished.

When doing comparison screenshots between the HD pack and the defaults, it's so WEIRD going back to default after you've gotten used to how things look in the HD pack.
But I did notice some oddities between the HD pack and the default, most notably the sizing of some of the numbers. I didn't really notice it fully until getting to the final boss fight. (I was going to post the actual images but they were MASSIVE so I've linked instead) https://imgur.com/G7PgNci (Default textures) https://imgur.com/dsMEIjm (HD texture pack) Link with both screenshots together for comparison: https://imgur.com/a/PBHFRx8 I noticed that some of the sizing of the numbers was a bit wonky. It's probably only a minor nitpick but it was very noticeable. Especially with the 4 in the HP display and the small 4 in the total FP display. Some of the 0's were a bit odd in size too but this wasn't as noticeable. I'm not totally sure on how to fix this myself otherwise I would have, but unless there are larger things to work on, this can probably wait. Just thought I'd document it, but otherwise I do love the HD texture pack!

Are you playing using 1x internal resolution? The screenshot with the texture pack loaded looks really jagged.

I was, yeah. I forgot you could change the internal resolution until I looked in the settings again, whoops XD
(Of course I only did this after I finished the fight so I couldn't retake with a better internal resolution.)

Really glad this texture pack exists this is one of my favorite GameCube games. Hope it gets finished someday.

a lot of the textures made early on had pretty inconsistent style. I don't know that anyone is still actively working on the texture pack it's been pretty silent for about a year now

IDK but please stop doing comparisons with 1x internal resolution lol. It's awful looking. From that it does look like numbers and what not need a small polishing pass. But it's hard to see how things are improved sometimes when you don't use any resolution boosts. We need to see it in 4K as it should be. |
