On that note, I'm assuming you now have a complete depository of all the textures in the game if you were able to give such an accurate figure. If that's the case, would you mind sharing it?

I got something better. This will help us identify what textures are in all the versions of the game. All regional releases of Paper Mario should work with this tool. Just drop the iso in the folder and run the "Dump_Textures.bat" file.

It's claiming that a cygpng16-16.dll file is missing and not working, so dunno what's up with that. Is the problem on my end, or is there stuff actually missing in this download?

Excellent! And WOW this is exactly what I needed! Granted, it's a pretty glaring downside that they don't come with the hashes, making actual implementation a bit tedious, but the convenience of having all the assets in a single place, and organized at that, is nothing to scoff at!

This might be a bit overambitious right now but we could eventually create a list of the texture names (This part would have to be done by hand) and rename them automatically. This would take a lot of work but would definitely be possible. All we would need is the texture names aligned with the internal names something like:

tex1_432x184_01afaa0fcb73c6c0_14.png <-> c_botta-.png

That of course isn't the right syntax or anything though. I'd have to look more into it. Wink

That's kind of the problem. We can't. Not without knowing the hashes beforehand anyway. These are still just as valid to use as a base for the textures. The hash will still need to be added afterwards. Undecided

Edit: Also, I've known of this program for years. I didn't realize however that Paper Mario was using the same image container as Mario Kart Wii. It was extremely simple to write a script after finding that out. Tongue

If the image data you get from this is identical to the image data you would get from Dolphin, it's possible to write a program that calculates image hashes in the same way as Dolphin.
