The flashing is caused by having dual core enabled. You can go to the game properties and either uncheck "Enable Dual Core" or turn on "Syncronize GPU Thread" whatever works better for you. Smile

I made textures for Wario and Waluigi in Illustrator. They appear when Mario uses the Wario or Wario + Luigi badge.

As far as I know, I don't think there's any requirements for the textures other than making sure the textures are good.

And, although I don't want to be too critical or anything, but I'm pretty sure you could've just recolored the existing Mario textures to make the costumes rather than making them from scratch. It creates some inconsistency between the one that already exists.

I am not going to draw a texture that already exists if i just need to make a minor change to it like a different color!

But of course i make sure they look good in game before i post them here, don't worry.

Right now i'm creating all of the missing Pianta textures. And quite a few from Rogueport.

Made a ton of new textures! Had some spare time and wanted to practice using Adobe Illustrator. And contribute something for the next update of course.

Those are character, item and environment textures from Rogueport.

Nice! You're improving very quickly! Something to keep in mind is that we've moved away from black outlines on characters. We're trying to make them as close to the original textures as possible. For example Lucky's Boots have a black outline when they shouldn't. Some textures are missing a few details as well.

Keep working at it. You've gotten very good at this in a lot shorter amount of time than I did. Tongue

EDIT: About the black outlines. Try to avoid them unless, they were that way originally. That's what I was trying to say. Smile

Some of these are actually pretty good. However, if you put a lot of these next to the originals you can see a lot of inaccuracies. And I'm not just saying that just to be pessimistic, either. Let me name a few.

This would be all fine and dandy if it wasn't for that missing pocket there. Same goes for the white one. Speak of the devil...

Not only is it missing a pocket, but it lacks the gradient clearly shown in the original.

I think that the problems in this one are obvious. Line thickness, proportions, etc.

I feel like you've been focusing more on quantity than quality. Please slow down a little, because this isn't a race. A good way to ensure quality in your work is to think to yourself:

"Would my texture look this way it is if TTYD was made with this resolution?"

In other words, try to make it look as close to the initial concept as possible. (although improvements can be made if needed)

Also, just going to cover something real quick:

The stripes don't have multiple colors. It just looks that way due to compression. In the original Mario sprites, you can also see some compression, especially near his ear. Make sure to keep that in mind.

@classified: Some of those look like my textures actually, I think he just recolored or renamed some of them.

The tux is correct for the one I did (no pocket). The white one looks like a recolor minus the gradient. I definitely didn't do all the piantas, just the ones in the screenshot below, I'm guessing he tried to fill in some of the gaps without having to completely redraw them. Unfortunately a ton of my project files got destroyed when one of my hard drives died, or else I'd share them. That's part of the reason I stopped doing character textures because I'd have to redraw, or color over, a lot of stuff that was already done (but just needed recolored)...

The tree thing on the pianta head is also mine. I'm at fault for coloring it that way. I didn't consider compression artifacts and just went with something that looked cool and matched the original. I figured nobody would look too closely at it given its size, but I was wrong. Tongue

I do agree with the borders, as I share a dislike for thin borders. I also don't like black borders, no textures in this game have pitch black borders. Some get very close, but never full black.
