Hmm.. I really like how this project is coming along. How are you guys making all these textures by the way? Are you re-drawing them? If so, what software are you using?

Certain spots in rogueport, the entire screen freezes for a second and everything flickers. Mario's extremely large textures were causing it for me. The flickering with custom textures is more textures being shown in the wrong order when dual core is enabled. Again maybe I'm missing something here if I'm the only one with this issue.
Dual core has lots of timing issues, so everything which affects the performance on either the GPU thread or the CPU thread may also affect the dual core stability. Yeah, this is a major bug in dolphin, but I have no clue how to fix it without single core...

I'm not some authority in domain but i have to say they look amazing.
  1. I like the fact your strokes are thinner than the originals, they look so much better, esp at higher resolutions. I think Nintendo went for thicker strokes cos for clarity (given the low NGC resolution).
  2. I'd make the smiley a tad smaller (and eventually add a thicker border to preserve the size) because it's quite intrusive but that's just a matter of taste.
BTW, nice pointer. Keep up the good work! ^_^

I went back and changed the stroke on the smile to inside and it does look better!

I actually like the thicker borders/outline because its what makes the paper mario series unique. It still looks really good though.

I finally got around to making a video showcasing the textures. I edited a lot of them because I didn't like them not having much of an outline. Koops, Goombella, Lord Crump. Luigi received some outline changes, as well as some shading to make them look like nicer. I also changed the Mario and his partners indicator on the top left, as well as many of the HUD to give it a better look and that's original to the game. I've made a lot more changes that aren't quite finished yet, so I don't plan on releasing the pack just yet, but keep an eye out for a future update.

Enjoy!
