Since this thread got quite a lot of bumps lately, i'd like to remind people willing to contribute that you can download this 538 kB arhchive that contains the two PSD files i used for one of the toads. [color=#ff3333]Anyone interested in doing all the toads, just download this archive[/color] (i included a few toad files i dumped but you should dump them all), all you have to do is change colors and/or add some patterns here and there (i used masks so that'll make adding patterns so much easier for you guys).

more textures  Smile

this includes a few textures that were missing in bighead's pack that he just posted. i left them all loose since the folder structure keeps changing. with these the title screen and main menu should be pretty much done. 

@razius I played around with the toad head, and maybe its just me but the dimensions don't seem to match up with the original textures. I used the 112x96 red toad head texture scaled up to 448x384 and tried to make your nice one fit and it ended up a little squished

I reworked the SPM toad and it's larger than TTYD ones...
    The SPM one had the face as well so i had to reconstruct the hat behind the face (inside the turquioise contour - picture 1), reason why the hat i made differs from the hat in TTYD. But you ca fix that easily... it's just that i didin't notice until you brought it up. Other than that, the stretching works fine for me. I guess there are few things that could be changed here and there (the face contour lines should be thinner in places).

Stretch the hat and the face separately (when downsizing) and they'll fit perfectly.

I'm really busy now but if you wanna do all the shrooms and have them look identically to TTYD ones, i'll fix the PSD file in 4 weeks (when i'll be more free). Let me know!

Also, I was thinking and if anyone wanted to create texture to replace the warning at the beginning of the game they could. Something similar to the custom straploaders for Xenoblade would be cool. I created my own but it didn't turn out so well. Tongue

You mean like i did for SPM? The original version had Peach (her outline/stroke needs polishing) and Tippi but decided to drop them in the end and focus on the Dolphin and the background (flavored with lens blur and large film grain).

That Mario sure as hell looks a lot like the SPM Title Screen Mario that i reworked over 2 and a half years ago.

The hat's "M" and the buttons differ quite a lot. Also... the Mario in the picture you linked (the one on the right) is missing the back hair curls and he has some funny looking eyes, he reminds me of the creepy original mickey mouse and his big fat empty eyes. Hell, anything reminding me of mickey mouse or disney gives me the chills.

so I've been working on a few textures for the opening sequence. download here.
there's an optional warning screen using the dolphin screen posted earlier. Theres also an optional wind waker style water texture. you can see what it looks like here.

I've also been running into the font texture crashing at the prologue. Its not necessarily the size though, if you open the texture in mspaint and save it it ruins the transparency but no longer crashes. I'll try to investigate further into this.

UPDATE: the crash seems to be caused by the amount of transparency in the font texture. painting a big white box over the blank space and a few rows of special foreign characters(roughly half the image) like so seems to have fixed it. unless this can be fixed by the dolphin devs, it's probably best to use the half current size font, or disable custom textures as a workaround (similar crashes may occur at each chapter start) I've added an optional version of the font texture to the above download that still looks pretty sharp at the lower resolution.

just noticed on the front page that you've started the move to the new texture format. I've been converting to it myself, so here's my entire folder, with 780/937 textures converted to the new format. whats left are mostly enemies and a few other misc textures that wouldn't convert because of odd resolutions that are not an exact multiple of the original. these will have to be tracked down manually. some may also be duplicates since the new system eliminated the need for them.

They will convert with odd resolutions. Some textures in this pack are dumped with different cache accuracy: most are fast, some are safe, maybe even medium? Would require being in that accuracy to rename it. When the texture is noticed in game you can change the accuracy and it should convert it on the spot.
