Paper Mario TTYD Crash at intro (Android)

Hey all, I've been trying to get Paper Mario TTYD to work on my Android. Phone is LG V40 ThinQ which has the Snapdragon 845.

The game keeps crashing at the intro scene where the boat comes across the screen. I've tried all suggestions here

No luck. The bottom of the thread says the issue should be fixed but my emulator was updated yesterday according to Google play store and the issue is still occuring. Has anyone gotten this to work for them? Any suggestions?

The Dolphin builds that are uploaded to the Play Store aren´t usually the latest. The Play Store version gets updated every now and then (every time there´s a new Progress Report to be exact).

If you need the absolute latest build you need to get it from Dolphin´s site.

Yes, but there haven't been any updates since the last Play Store update that should affect this issue. The Play Store version is usually recent enough.

I thought that might be the issue. But I downloaded the latest development build from the website.. same result.

Have you tried the Vulkan backend? It works better in some cases on mobile GPUs.

It crashes almost immediately with vulkan
