Hello,

I am on Chapter 6 of Paper Mario: TTYD, at the end battle with Cortez.

Using Crystal Star moves, switching partners, or using specific moves freezes the game, and if I do manage to beat the first stage without special moves, the curtain closes and the game freezes.

I have heard chapter 6 is very buggy itself, are there any known fixes?

Try switching to OpenGL or Vulkan. This game used to have crashes with D3D that (I thought) were fixed with the VideoCommon changes. I haven't actually tested this, just a hunch. If that doesn't work you can try disabling dual-core mode.

Switched to Vulkan backend, works perfectly. Thanks

Also, consider disabling Dual Core if your system can handle the game full speed on Dolphin's Single Core mode, as Paper Mario series has some weird frame pacing issues in Dual Core mode that might eventually result in soft locks...
