THINGS I HAVE DONE:
  • updated my directx (installed march 2009 SDK and run the dxwebinstall thing, though it said i had a later version)
  • installed the latest VC++ 2008 redist
  • clicked through 8 pages of existing "pad problem" topics in support, tried tons of different queries... no dice
  • read the stickies / FAQ

SVNS I HAVE TRIED:
  • r4812 (x64)
  • r3972 (x64)
  • r4771 (win32 and x64)

PROBLEM:
Only the 32-bit dolphin works. When clicking the Pad button on every x64 SVN i tried, i receive the message
"Error loading Plugins/Plugin_PadSimple.dll: can't read info"
followed by a "not responding" Windows dialog. I also can't see any items under Pad or Wii on the plugin configuration page -- they're blank, and the dropdown menus are blank.

---
from dolphin.ini in user/config (unmodified):
GFXPlugin = Plugins/Plugin_VideoOGL.dll
DSPPlugin = Plugins/Plugin_DSP_HLE.dll
Pad1Plugin = Plugins/Plugin_PadSimple.dll
Pad2Plugin = Plugins/Plugin_DSP_HLE.dll
Pad3Plugin = Plugins/Plugin_Wiimote.dll
Pad4Plugin =
WiiMote1Plugin = Plugins/Plugin_Wiimote.dll

MACHINE:
Windows 7 Pro x64 (Windows updated)
AMD Phenom 9850
ATI Radeon 3870HD (updated drivers)

Hope i've included all the information needed to diagnose my issue. As i said, it works like a charm on the 32-bit version: Pad / Wiimote show up, game will launch / play fine, info detected correctly, etc... Issue is only with x64 SVNs.
Thanks for any help!

Try unistalling the SDK ( we use the august SDK , no the march one ) and try runing the web installer again ( maybe it could work )
