Hello guys i just overclocked my gtx 970 by a bit (somewhere around 10-20% stronger now) and i am curious if its ok that the graphics card has around 81-83 degrees celsius now(had 80 degress constantly before for around 1 year under gaming pressure), i heard from a guy on youtube that till 85 degrees its ok and nvidia gtx 970 cards can go up till 95 degrees but that is rather unhealthy, will the livespan of the card be shortened? and btw. the pc was prebuild.
Overclocking gtx 970/too hot?

...under what exactly? Different games and applications will have varying load on your GPU.
And whats your fan speed set to? It depends on what you're doing, but those temps are kinda on the high side for me, but it isn't too hot for the card. 11-14-2015, 02:12 AM

Different games and applications will have varying load on your GPU. i am mostly playing killing floor 2 with it, the witcher 3, etc. the temperatures go from 81-83 degrees, before they have been like 78-80 degrees and i didn't have any problems, also tested it with the benchmarks valley and heaven and its also about 81-83 degrees hot |
