Ok, so I temporarily overclocked my notebook from 2.53 to 3.2 in order to run Dolphin sufficiently. My temps seem to be great, I placed laptop near my windows and the CPU temp didn't go above 50 degree's Celsius during the course of the emulation. The problem is that I am only getting about 20fps... Any suggestions to why so low? When I overclock to 3.0gHz on my q6600 my Wii games run smooth on the emulator (Mario Kart Wii), but when I overclock to 3.2 on the i3 processor in notebook the FPS is still pretty low for some reason...Any idea's? Perhaps Processor architecture? 8mb cache vs 3mb cache?

Which software settings should I mess around with?

PS: my system is with a dedicated graphics card ATI Mobility 6370 w/ 512mb of dedicated memory, 4gb ram, and 320gb hard drive @ 7200rpm

The ATI Mobility 6370 is junk. Buy a gaming laptop if you wanna do any serious gaming, if not, then it's junk.

I don't think so, I think its quite fine for my needs and for a price/performance that I got it for. I'm not into any HARD gaming, occationally, and I don't mind tuning down the graphics because I have a huge gaming computer at home already. So you think its the graphics that's killing me>

Yup. I'm 200% sure it's the graphic... Don't need to be a rocket scientist to figured that out.

yea 6370m is not very good.
Passmark score benches it at 281(mid range GPU)
here's a link.

It'll hold you back on dolphin big time. Upgrade to a gaming laptop and you'll be fine.

First try:
Turn off audio throttle
Set efb copy to texture
Turn off emulate format changes
Turn off accurate texture cache if the game doesn't need it
Turn off SSAA
Turn off pixel lighting
Turn off pixel depth

Then:
If it's still running slow try turning off efb scaled copy. If that significantly improved your framerate then it's your gpu that's insufficient like tuanming said.

Might as well give him proof and remove everything else that could cause a slowdown. For the record I do also believe his gpu is the culprit.
