OSCulator/ Dolphin problem (Wiimote with GC game)

I'm trying to use my Wiimote/ Nunchuck with a GC game in Dolphin. While I understand it isn't officially supported, I'm using OSCulator to make the Wiimote output keyboard commands. I can get it to type in Finder, in Dolphin settings, pretty much anywhere.

However if I try to use it at all in an emulated game, no response. No matter what GCPad device I choose, nothing.

If I target any of the mapped keys to Dolphin, I can't use my keyboard with Dolphin.
If I don't target anything, I can use my keyboard with Dolphin but the Wiimote still won't do anything.

Ideas on what might be the problem? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
-Steve

Try enabling "Background Input" in GCPad configuration. And if that doesn't work, you could also try mapping the wiimote with GlovePIE...

EDIT: forget GlovePIE, didn't see that you're using Mac...

There's a lovely little app called WJoy that you should be using for this task instead. https://code.google.com/p/wjoy/ OSCulator exposes the thing as a MIDI device, which absolutely zero of the Dolphin devs would care to implement support for. (It looks like a clusterfuck to use regardless.)

There's nothing to configure within WJoy itself aside from just connecting the remote. In Dolphin's GCpad window, you'll want to set the Device to "Input/0/Wiimote (xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx)" and do the usual click-button-in-UI-then-press-button-on-remote routine.

Thanks, after it didn't work I stumbled across WJoy and managed to get everything working. Surprising that it isn't recommended more often, it works flawlessly. Unfortunately my old Macbook Pro isn't quite up to spec for using Dolphin, so I'm going to buy a bluetooth dongle for my PC gaming rig and go from there. Thanks again!
