OS X Wiimote Connection problems

I've successfully connected my wii remote to my 2011 MacBook Pro running OSX 10.7.3, and then when I go to find the wii remote in Dolphin it can't find it. I see a lot of similar problems on the forums, but none dealing directly with OS X. Anyone have a cure for this problem? I've tried using just about every version of dolphin and seeing if it worked, since my laptop does recognize the wii remote. Any suggestions?!

Which wiimote do you use? An original Nintendo or a 3rd party wiimote?

It's an original Nintendo Wii remote. It's my neighbors and came with their Wii that they bought like 5 years ago. So it does NOT have motion plus either. It's as simple of a remote as I can get my hands on.
