I suggest searching Google for the tells on unofficial gear, I find it very unlikely the dongle would cause that when the wiimote works fine on its own. Its more likely you either have a iffy wiimote, nunchuck or both.

Hey everybody,
I just bought these two chinese knockoff remotes w/ nunchuks: http://www.amazon.com/Nunchuk-Nunchuck-Controller-Nintendo-Packaging-Tomtop/dp/B002D2Y3IS/

They both work fine, IR, buttons, everything, but the nunchuk doesn't get detected. Using a friends official MotionPlus wiimote w/ a nunchuk is fine though. And the knockoffs with the nunchucks attached work on the regular wii.

Even funnier, the knockoff nunchuks were working just earlier today! Weird. Is there just no hope of getting a third party nunchuk to work with dolphin?

Thanks

The problem doesn't come from the Nunchuk itself. It comes from your fake Wiimote.

And akkyagarwal's Wiimote is likely to be a fake one too

So the only way to fix it is to use official Nintendo controllers? Like I said it was working earlier- no way of going back to that i guess? Weird.

Seems silly to me to spend $80+ on controllers when the wii itself is only $150 officially.

If you can live with bad graphic quality then yeah you can buy a Wii Big Grin .

For the Wiimote: Official stuff avoids multiple issues

Guess it's worth it just to buy the official stuff then. I did find this thread which talked about the source code for initiliazing a 3rd party nunchuk: http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-3rd-party-nunchucks-links-for-developers

No replies though. Don't know much about coding etc, but could that somehow be integrated into dolphin?

I don't know. Billiard26 (a dev) is more likely to answer to this. He will probably answer to you when he reads this thread. Or you might just PM him.

About official Wiimote and Nunchuk: I have official ones and it works just fine. If you're ready to invest then don't hesitate

Found a crazy cheap deal of $18 for two used wiimotes (albeit with a $10 off gift card). Returning my chinese knockoffs. Good luck to me I guess! Here's hoping the 4-14 day shipping is more on the 4 day side, though..

Still, maybe someone can code in that nunchuk bit so everyones happy.

Did you ever try to play MotionPlus games WITHOUT the motionplus attachment?

I just bought a chinese knockoff Wiimote + Nunchuk + Motionplus and the nunchuk doesn't work when the Motionplus attachment is plugged in. HOWEVER, I found out that Motionplus exclusive games will detect that my controller has Motionplus in it even when I am not using it, leading me to believe that it has Motionplus built in. Using the nunchuk on the wiimote directly works 100%.

Note that NOWHERE did it EVER say that my wiimote has Motionplus in it: Not the eBay listing, not the packaging, not the wiimote itself. Nothing.

From what I can gather from the web and from this website http://www.mobiledataup.com/dolphin-wii-motion-plus/

I dont think dolphin will ever support the motion plus adapter. I just posted in another thread but has anyone heard anything about getting the small adpater to work?
