With the absence of GlovePie on Mac OSX, I'm concerned that I cannot go out and purchase any old usb gamepad and expect it to be directly compatible with Dolphin, can I? So I'm wondering what are some comfortable, affordable, and most importantly, compatible options for GC controllers to be used on a Mac. Or is my best option to simply dualboot windows (thereby being able to use directx and other features only available in windows)?

Thanks

Yes. This s your best option.

Alright, in that case, what are some good choices for controllers on windows? I've heard a lot of people use the xbox 360 USB controller. Is it true that it requires no mapping? Just plug and play? That's around $40 though, yes? I'd be fine using a wii classic controller if it works just as well. What do most people end up using?

actually the wonderful thing about osx is, most converters DO work, i got a magic joy box 3 and it worked on OSX out of the box. and it didnt say osx compatible on the box.

Checkout my latest project ( it is a program that downloads and compiles dolphin on mac and linux now): http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu-downloader (It's unofficial and maintained by me, not the dolphin dev team)

You're telling me a GC controller converter worked with dolphin on OSX without any kind of drivers or custom mapping???:o Where can one purchase said product? It seems to out of stock everywhere I've looked.

Ah! Yes, thanks, I actually found one on ebay that wasn't in Hong Kong. It arrived today, and everything is working as it should save one thing. I can't seem to figure out how to map the analog shoulder buttons. Can you shed any light on the situation? None of the "axis unk-" options seem to make any difference in the more options panel of the gcpad.

Here, i attached a photo of my current working configuration, simply right click the button you want to change, select the correct axis/button from the list, hit select on the right, hit set at the bottom and hit the X button. Do this for every button and it should work fine.
