I'm having a problem running games in opengl.

for games i run in direct3d i followed the instructions;

1. set dolphin to use nvidia gpu (gtx 860m) in the nvidia control panel.
2. set gpu in dolphin to hd 4600 (i7 4810mq)
3. run game. ok, works.

however when i try and use opengl the emulator crashes on clicking the play button.

I check my event logs and see;

Quote:Faulting application name: Dolphin.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x549d2973

Faulting module name: nvoglv64.DLL, version: 9.18.13.4709, time stamp: 0x548be14f

so I remove the dolphin setting from nvidia control panel and boom, opengl works, however it now defaults to the intel gpu resulting in lower fps.

then when i switch back to direct3d and add dolphin back to the nvidia cpl i get;

i then delete the dolphin folder and create a new one with a different name and direct3d works again.
however i'm back with crashing opengl.

I don't get this hassle with pcsx2 which detects my nvidia gpu perfectly and requires no control panel tweaking. (with d3d or ogl)

at a loss on what to do to get both renderers working in dolphin???

Even though it says you're selecting the Intel HD, if you're in high performance mode, Optimus overrides the decision and uses the NVIDIA. And if you manually select the NVIDIA ever, Optimus is a pain in the ass and just decides to break everything.

What driver version do you have installed for the Nvidia card?

Well, I also have optimus and I the first post perfectly describes my situation, though I tested Dolphin about a month ago. I googled the error code and it turned out the problem related to the driver. I had a 337.88 version at the time of testing. Unfortunately I couldn't download the latest driver because of the traffic limit. Had a hope it would be sorted out later since those **** drivers are constantly growing in size.

But there is one game in my library that doesn't crash upon starting - Burnout 2, so I guess it could be fixed without needing to download a new driver. I read somewhere here that the new 3D stereoscopy mode causes some crashes so maybe it is the culprit.

The stereo 3D mode shouldn't cause any crashes; it was added a while ago and just enabled a few days ago.

As of Dolphin 4.0-3500 everything works flawlessly, but Dolphin 4.0-4366 has those crashes.

Try the latest build, we fixed a problem with Intel HDs not doing something properly in their driver

Dolphin 4.0-4887 - problem solved, no more crashes. At least on 314 driver, to which I had to revert to some time ago.

Can you try reinstalling the latest driver now?
