I know there are general requirements in the sticky, but they're pretty vague. What do you guys think the absolute minimum stats are to be able to play at full speed, no sound or video hiccups, with four players playing (Wii and GC)?

What are you using and what problems, if any, do you notice?

I'm running an AMD X2 3600, an ATI 2400 Pro and 2GB of ram. The few frames I can get working so far are running about 20-25FPS with choppy sound.

Also, just as an aside question, can Wii games be played without a wiitroller? My controllers don't have gyros in them but I'd like to be able to play some Wii games. I'd love to test it, but unfortunately I can't get any games running yet (see my help thread in support forum if you want to help)!

full speed, no hiccups? the biggest baddest rig u can imagine doesnt even cut it for some games. to play anything at any decent speed u need the fastest cpu u can find, preferably dual or triple core, and a gpu that supports pixel shader 2.0 and opengl 2.1. got it? Tongue

CPU: A C2D E8600 or i7 975 OC'ed to untouched clockspeeds.
GPU: An HD 4850 should cut it.
And of course you'll need other system components to complement the above such as 6GB of decent DDR3-1333 RAM a Corsair 500W+ PSU etc. Oh, and a really good motherboard that lets you overclock well. You're gonna need it if you wanna reach 6.0Ghz. Wink
Windows 7 RC Build 7100 x64 || Windows Vista SP2 x64
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 (3.16Ghz)
ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB (750Mhz/900Mhz)
OCZ Vista Gold 4GB RAM (2x2GB) DDR2-800
Asus P5QL-E
OCZ GameXStream 600W

Wow I didn't think that Dolphin was so power hungry. I thought that it didn't benefit from more than two cores? Can Vista even address 12GB or ram? And I was under the impression that Dolphin was mostly CPU, therefore the strength of the GPU was less important?

3 Cores won't help at all, all you need is 2 cores. So getting an i7 won't help either because the extra 2 cores are redundant. Getting the highest clockspeeds on a 2 core cpu would be the most cost effective and best solution. Also, to play ssbb you dont need much more than a 2.5 ghz to play fullspeed (dunno about vs mode) with 4 players (3 cpus)
