If you could see the text a bit better like how asciiart suppose to look and if it wasn't so slow this could end up being a favorite shader

But aside the point. I don't know who came up the idea of this post processing technique but it doesn't look like how ASCIIART Should look, plus its really slow and needs more work to live up to the name asciiart below is another picture of the proper way the shader should look 09-12-2014, 09:53 AM

If you want to know, why this shader is so slow, just look at the big comment block within the shader itself: https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/b...iiart.glsl
And there are of course ways to get a much faster ascii art shader, but the result will look worse :/ 09-12-2014, 09:44 PM
I think he wants it to look worse.

Really what he wants is the background colour to be black. even though it's within the terminal's capabilities for having a different background colour per character.

I haven't tried the ascii art effect in Dolphin yet, but the Windwaker screenshot in the first post doesn't look like any ascii art I've ever seen. It looks like this "extended" version of ascii uses characters that look like pixels instead of text, and completely ruins the effect. It's an interesting way to do it, but instead of saying, "Wow, it's a picture made out of text", people will just think it looks kind of blurry and wrong.
