Today, I downloaded the latest version of the dolphin emulator. But, while trying to open it, it pops out an error message saying, " OpenAL32.dll was not found". Why did such an error happen? I am running on Windows 10. Any quick tip for this topic would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

I searched google and found some good suggestions. I followed some of them like downloading the missing DLL from the DLL site like this: https://dlldownloads.com/openal32-dll/. I also updated Windows and graphics drivers but still getting error. Any quick tip for this topic would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
It's not a very good idea to download random DLLs online like that. Half the time it doesn't actually work and you'll still get the errors, or at worse mess up your current Windows installation. Additionally, you could potentially be putting yourself at risk if those DLLs have been maliciously modified.
I'd advise that you delete any DLLs you downloaded and install OpenAL. Go here and select the Windows Installer (zip file), extract it, run it, and see what happens when you try to run Dolphin. |
