Not that I am entirely sure, but Windows and Dolphin might have some issues if your Windows username contains non-English characters. You might want to try and make Dolphin portable (portable.txt in Dolphin folder) and place the texture pack there.

Non English Characters? PJ?
Anyways what folder structure do I place the contents from my documents folder in? (10-09-2019, 02:33 AM)Ratso Wrote: Non English Characters? PJ? Characters such as ä, å, ö and so on, not native to the English alphabet. (10-09-2019, 02:33 AM)Ratso Wrote: Anyways what folder structure do I place the contents from my documents folder in? If you create a "portable.txt" file within your Dolphin folder then it creates the "user" folder upon first boot. Instead of referring to My Documents/Dolphin Emulator it instead refers to ../user/ (starting from the Dolphin installation folder). You can copy everything from your previous settings folder if you want, but you might wanna try and see it the texture pack works prior to doing that. Likewise with the previous folder, the texture pack would need to be added to ../user/load/textures Try and keep the path towards the texture pack to be as short as possible (aka, length for folder names and amount of subfolders). If I am correctly, there is a maximum limit of 260 characters for a path. Just confirming, the GameID of your disc is D43E01? 10-09-2019, 02:49 AM
PJ is not non-native though.
Yeah it's the right game ID Ok I figured it out, it was already in portable, I deleted portable and when it started using my documents folder it started using the textures, so should I move the folders from documents over to the user folder so I can make it portable again?
Confirming this as well. The texture pack folder itself should be around 4 GB large in disk space. So make sure there isn't any corrupted content from your download.

Ok. So something seems definitely wrong with your portable config. Yes, you can move the contents from your "My Documents/Dolphin Emulator" to "../user" if you want a portable config instead. Remember to place a "portable.txt" within the Dolphin installation folder. You should try and see which specific settings broke the texture pack. You should only copy over the mandatory then such as save files to ensure it doesn't break again and keep the portable config as fresh as possible. 10-09-2019, 03:05 AM
When it's portable it's just not letting me do it, now I'm not even getting that "Loaded 0.0MB"

It's weird it does work when you're using the global user directory instead the portable user directory. You could try and use the full GameID for the texture pack folder (rename D43 to D43E01 instead). You did reset all your settings in the portable configuration? |
