So I was gonna start up my copy of FF Echo's of Time and wanted to play with a friend but with the servers being down I thought maybe playing through the dolphin emulator would allow a custom server of sorts? If not does anyone know how I could achieve this if possible?
Online with other Emulators?

With Dolphin's netplay feature, you can play as if all players are using the same GameCube/Wii. https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/netplay-guide/
I suggest that you play the game with (emulated) GameCube controllers instead of Wii Remotes if possible, otherwise the game might desync. Please note that you won't be able to load save data in Wii netplay unless you use certain older Dolphin versions. 08-11-2015, 03:08 AM

I thought NetPlay was to mimic a 2nd controller/player? 08-11-2015, 03:19 AM

Some games have third-party servers that you can use for that (primarily intended for real Wiis, but they can also be used in Dolphin), but I don't know if there are any for this game. 08-11-2015, 03:21 AM
This game only has wifi multiplayer afaik. You'll have to check out Wiimmfi to see if it'll work.
