Heyyo.

I didn't have high hopes for playable framerates in Dolphin on Android with the OnePlus 3, regardless of great specs. I am greatly fascinated by how this emulation stuff works, but I just don't have the knowledge to know what I'm talking about regarding these things yet. So, in short, I'm not frustrated or disappointed or anything, as that wouldn't be fair to the incredible work being done here. Also, it's an early Alpha, so yeah.

With that out of the way, I'm curious as to why my OnePlus 3 struggles to start games (I've tried Animal Crossing and Zelda Twilight Princess so far, probably not the very best games to test, etc). Is it a question of GPU support? Oxygen OS vs. Android (probably not)? The amount of RAM? I'd love to contribute further testing with this phone in any way I can, so any advice I can get so I can potentially get further than the Nintendo logo in these games and others would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, and keep up the good work!

PS: I'm using the latest Dolphin Android builds from the buildbot, if that helps.

Hi PyGuy,

The reason many games are crashing/are not playable is because of the OnePlus 3's device drivers. Many Android devices, such as the Galaxy S7, the Nexus 5X, and the Nexus 6P all utilize Open GL 3.2, while the OnePlus 3 has yet to see a driver update. Android Nougat will most likely bring new driver updates, meaning Open GL 3.2 for the OnePlus 3 (hopefully soon). Until then I have a compatibility list here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ru6ThZ650gT9rk2Z53S-AiYcQzdrgWdtybGnUQCERuM/
I also have a YouTube channel (same name) where I upload videos of me testing GameCube games on the OnePlus 3 so if you have a request hmu on there and I'll fufil it. Hopefully I was of help Big Grin
