one piece unlimited cruise 2 netplay problem

Game works fine when I start it up, same for my friend. But as soon as we enter netplay it freezes on the press A screen showing the wii controller. Works if I disable player 2's wiimote. Note, we're both using emulated wiimotes. Same settings, same wii saves, all that jazz. On Dolphin 4.0. We've played other wii games fine. Am I doing something wrong.
