On screen keyboard problems for disabled person

Hi, I'm a quadriplegic (paralyzed from the shoulders down) who can control my mouse cursor with the motion of my head and click by biting a switch. I rely on an on screen keyboard to play emulators, which is where my problem exists. I have had success with gb, gba, ds, and 3ds emulators, but can't get dolphin to recognize my inputs in-game. I have checked the background input button in the main settings as well, but no luck.

I'm running Dolphin 5.0-14095 on Windows 10. I would really like to expand my gaming into the gamecube platform, but I need help. Thanks in advance!

With the GameCube controller configuration window open, if you give commands do they light up in the window?

Also, what games are you trying to play with that GameCube Controller configuration?

Erm, let me rephrase that. If you press buttons with the window open, does the text for any of the buttons appear in bold? (they don't light up anymore)

Also I don't much experience helping with the kind of accessibility hardware you are using. Can you tell us about the hardware and how it works? Ideally maybe give us a name or website we can use to find more information?

Are you referring to the configuration window where you assign what keys control each button? If yes, then nothing appears in bold. I actually had someone try my real keyboard and nothing happens. I actually have two different ways of controlling my mouse cursor, but they shouldn't have an impact on anything as they just move my mouse cursor:

A joystick that I can move with my chin/mouth to move the cursor, and to click, I can blow into its end.

I've used this setup with VBA, Desmume, and Citra and they all worked.

So the onscreen keyboard does work under Windows, we just tried it. So your method should be working. So let's try some things.

1. Select the device in the upper left, change it to something else, then change it back. I know I know "turn it off then back on again" but this can help with some input weirdness.

2. Try this prototype build from a dolphin dev. It has a number of fixes which may address whatever issue you are encountering.

3. There may be an additional device involved or some other unexpected bits in the setup. Could you show us the device dropdown expanded so we can see all the devices presen?

Using the newer build worked after deselecting and reselecting the keyboard in the top left. Thank you for your help!

Are you referring to the latest dev build or the prototype build I linked you to? We'd like to know for testing reasons!
