old processor but newervideo card

got a gpu from a friend cheap but the processor is a bit old. i have a fx-8120 cpu with a gtx 1060 6gb graphics what kind of performance can i expect. also i'm on windows should i use vulkan, opengl or directx?

The fx series wasn't ever that great for dolphin, You should be fine with lighter games like windwaker but it will struggle with more demanding games. Directx 11 or opengl seem to be best option from my experience for nvidia cards but you can try the direct 12 or vulkan to see if they do any better.

yeah i'm getting bored with lockdown. planning on playing through pokemon coliseum, xd, fire emblem por and if it isn't over by then i'll try the wii game fire emblem radiant dawn. are those games heavy or light?

Pokemon collisuem and xd should be fine. I don't know about fire emblem or the other games though I never play though games.

The Fire Emblem games are also relatively easy to run.
