I'll keep that in mind in the future. I guess I was just expecting steller performance and really surprised when I didn't get it. As for Alienware...well...I was never much of a fan either.

When you are talking about an oc'd Core i7 920 with 6 gig ram, Radeon 5870 card, Wireless nic, Capture card and a bunch of other stuff for $800, guess what?...Alienware ROCKS!

Your sarcasm isn't very funny. Just saying, it doesn't matter how much you spend. I'm not spending anything on a crappy plastic alien flashy case with crappy airflow, and crappy wiring. TBH, anyone here over 20 has too much time on their hands.

Not insulting or saying anything negative to your recent acquisition, but encouraging you to build a rig next time.

Even if it's not for you but for a relative or a friend, you'll see notice some interesting things like the location of the heatsink, power supply, wiring... the thing is that when you build a rig, if it fails sometime later, you'll most certainly know what the problem might be and that will teach you even more about it.

Doing so gives the freedom of choosing a proper case, for aesthetic or practical reasons, and build the PC with appropiate components, it is even possible to leave the video card for some days later after checking out how well it fits and how effective can its cooling system be on that specific case since some high end GFX cards can be huge and unlikely to fit.

When it comes to warranty, replacing individual pieces is a better choice than sending the entire computer to service. Unless the user doesn't care about the security and privacy of his/her data.

All that with the plus of the price.

I do have to add, I used to work for Dell in the alienware dpmt. They are no more then flashy over priced computers you can build on your own for half the price. The laptops I like
