I am using a Gamecube controller with the official Gamecube controller adapter and I installed the driver with Zadig. For the most part, it works properly, but there is still one problem for me. Sometimes, the controls will randomly cut out, as in I press a button and there is no response. When I open the controller configuration, I notice that as the controls are cutting out during gameplay, under where it says "Gamecube adapter" it will switch between "adapter detected" and "adapter not detected". Of course, it's the moments that it says "adapter not detected" that my controls aren't responding, as if my controller was unplugged. I don't have a consistent way of making this problem show up whenever I want, although playing a game with frame limit off or just playing a game that's harder on my computer seems to increase the chances of it happening (as well as netplay). It happens a lot more in netplay to the extent that I actually play games online with an Xbox 360 controller, which doesn't have the problem. I have seen this problem as early as 6454 and up to the latest versions of Dolphin. I never tried the first version of Dolphin to introduce native GC controller support, but I don't expect that would work either. Has anyone else ever seen this issue before?

Hey. So i'm not the only one. I have the exact same problem. It's disturbing when it happens in the middle of a round on ProjectM netplay.
From France with love.

I've had this issue on my laptop, but not stationary PC. My guess is that the laptop loses power to the USB or something.

Only Dolphin itself seems to stop seeing the adapter as being connected, although as far as I know, Windows itself is still seeing the adapter. Can you test if the adapter will work OK when the gray end of the USB has been inserted as well? It's the cable that feed extra power to the adapter if the black one (data cable) doesn't give enough power.

Is it possible that the USB power saving is disconnecting the adapter? I read something about a continuous (not intermittent) disconnection with Raphnet adapters on Windows 8 or something, where you need to disable USB power saving in the power profile dialog.

My controls will still cut out sometimes. |
