Official Wii U adapter and Gamecube controller adapter issues

After roughly a month of not using Dolphin I come back to it today and the left analogue stick is stuck pressing down no matter what I do.

I have tried two separate official Wii U controller adapters as well as 3 separate official Gamecube controllers, getting the same issue every time. All other buttons work correctly.

Have gone through deleting the drivers and going through zadig again but nothing fixes the issue. Have also tried multiple versions of dolphin but nothing fixes the problem.......

Did you reset your GC controllers (hold down start+x+y I believe)

thanks. thats the first i have ever heard of the reseting the controllers, will give it a go.....
