I could play Zelda SS without the bar, at the beginning I use two candles and I played a little with them, then I turned them off and I could continue to play, when I pressed C the cursor react with my movements, then I saved "save state" and I returned to the game and my movements were always detected
I suspected the LED of my monitor and my router so I camouflaged them and it still worked
after I finished I had some doubts, maybe it only works for 2D movements (up, down, left and right) and not for 3D movement, but how can I tried these movement in the begining of Zelda SS ?

Zelda SS requires a sensor bar. Playing without one is possible but it'll lack calibration veeery easy and the controls will be very unresponsible. Zelda SS does a lot of realtime calibrations based on sensor bar position...
