I am planning on getting a Wii Bluetooth module that I will solder a usb connector to so I can connect my Wiimotes to my PC. Would an offbrand like this one at Amazon work or should I get the real deal from an old Wii for best results?

Does anyone have any experience with the off brand replacements for the Wii’s Bluetooth module?

Honestly, I don't think anyone does. Try it and see!
I don't have experience with this, but I definitely recommend double checking the precise bluetooth chip on the off-brand and seeing if it matches what is on a Wii bluetooth module. If it matches, it will likely work, if it doesn't, it is unlikely to work, from what I can guess. ![]() AMD Threadripper Pro 5975WX PBO+200 | Asrock WRX80 Creator | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 FE | 64GB DDR4-3600 Octo-Channel | Windows 11 23H1 | (details)

I used a $1 one from AliExpress or one of its competitors. It didn't come out of my Wii, and I've never had problems with it (except the test pads lifting off when I was initially trying to solder it, but I'd heard that could happen, and bought a spare at the same time). I think that's actually a pretty common way to do it and I think I got the link from early in the long-running forum thread discussing making adapters.

I don't think off-brand Wii BT modules exist (at least not at the moment), the photos from the Amazon listing you linked shows the same FCC ID from the official module. More likely they're scavenged from broken consoles...
