Hi ¡ its will be this Soc powerful enough for works dolphin at decent speed? It will be more faster than mali t628 mp6 of exynos 5422? Sorry for this menssage not is My language native and congratulations for this great emulator..

Sorry for this menssage not is My language native and congratulations for this great emulator.. That sounds impressive. Not really familiar with mediatek's CPU performance, but it's Armv8 so I'd imagine it's much faster than the 801 and the exynos 5422 05-24-2014, 01:35 AM
MediaTek runs Mali's latest video drivers which are the r4p0 drivers which I haven't been able to get in order to test yet. The Chromium guys should be pushing it to the dev channel update within a few weeks so I'll be able to test it then. Doesn't matter too terribly much since it's still a GLES3 feature set and we use a lot of other features to speed up emulation. So /if/ they fixed their slow buffer streaming then performance will increase a bit due to less CPU overhead in the GPU drivers.
The CPU should be quicker, but of course there aren't any fruitless AArch64 CPUs out so we don't know how it'll perform. It would still need to run the ARMv7 CPU core since again, I don't have the CPU to complete the AArch64 emitter or the JIT. I've got a AArch64 emitter started, but it'll take many months after I get a device with it to get both the emitter and a JIT to point the ARMv7 JIT is. 05-24-2014, 06:58 AM
The improvements that AArch64's NEON brings will accelerate paired single instruction execution by a reasonable amount
I would avoid MeidiTek at all cost . Up till now , all of their processors have low single threaded performance . Dolphin is a dual core application , it's not like Dolphin will be able to use all 8 cores anyway
I heard Nvidia also make a super core version of Tegra K1 ( Super Core Dual Core vs Normal Quad Core ) . It should be the best processor for Dolphin when it was released Laptop: (Show Spoiler)

It's a stock A53 chip so it should run quite well. Although the nvidia chip will be faster for sure.
Their 28nm A17 octacore MT6592 @ 2.0GHz is even slower than 28nm A15 Quadcore Snapdragon 800 in multi-threaded benchmark !
Speaking as Snapdragon 800 owner , I never have any hope for whatever next gen Snapdragon chip let alone Mediatek Laptop: (Show Spoiler)

The MT6592 is a A7 not A17, we're talking about the MT6595.
The Cortex-A7 is made to be a fairly energy efficient CPU and low performance. Quite a bit different than an A53. |
