First and foremost, I want to make something clear. I haven't read a rule that states I shouldn't do what I'm about to post. If I somehow break a rule, simply delete the thread, and nothing else.
Secondly, if this is in the wrong section, kindly move it to the correct one. I know this isn't really helping people with Dolphin, but this thread is about an alternative to play certain games that are fully supported on other emulators.
I've noticed people complaining quite a few times about getting Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask working on Dolphin. And I understand the want to do that since the Collector's Edition is awesome, I should know. I had it before. But I also want to provide some alternatives for people who have trouble running the games on Dolphin, many people try running the games on Dolphin for some sort of graphic enhancements and such.
I also want to make it clear that I'm not advertising or trying to move people away from Dolphin, this is simply unintentional and may seem that way. Now then.
For people who seem to be having problems with OOT and MM on Dolphin, I enourage you to download Project64/1964. Whichever floats your boat. But don't stop there! If your PC is capable of even booting up games with Dolphin, then chances are, you are also able to use texture packs with Project64/1964 with barely any problems.
Here are a list of things needed to get this simple process going.
Glide64 Final Release
Project 64
1964
Dijipi's OOT Hi-res/Cell shaded textures
Dijipi's MM Hi-res/Cell shaded textures
Next, I'm going to be explaing on how to apply these things to your game. For the sake of goodness, I'm going to be assuming you people have a hard copy of these games as talk of ROMS are prohibited. To some extent anyway, no warez talk obviously. Now then.
These instructions will be for Project 64, I've not tried this method with 1964 because I don't use it, but it should be similar if you use Rice Video plugin for it. Glide may even work.
To get Project 64 to run these textures, Windows 7 users, this little tidbit of info is for you.
Windows 7 users
Right click Project 64 and click the compatibility tab. Set the compatibility mode to Windows Vista SP2. Also make sure that Project 64 has full admin control.
Configuring Project 64
After you install the program, go into Project 64's directory and put the "glide3x.dll" into the programs directory. Should look something like this.
![[Image: vngxty.png]](http://i45.tinypic.com/vngxty.png)
Next, inside the plugin folder that is in the rar of Glide 64, put everything from there into your Project 64 plugin folder.
Tip: Click on GLTest to see if your PC supports the plugin. As I said before, if you're running Dolphin then I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to.
Glide 64 settings
Go ahead and make a folder inside of plugins called "cache".
Now open Project 64 and choose Glide 64 as your Graphics plugin. Then go into its settings and make sure things look like this.
![[Image: f39xc9.png]](http://i49.tinypic.com/f39xc9.png)
After it does, exit out of it's settings and go back into them. Click the "Texture Enhancement" tab and make the settings look like this.

Now you should be ready for the textures.
Applying the textures
It's worth noting that in order to use the files that you download from Dijipi, you should download HJSplit. Use it to join the 3 files together which would then create a rar file. So for example, when you open HJSplit, click join and search for "Djipi_CellPack_OOT_2011.zip.001". Join them together. Always look for the file that has .001 at the end when joining files. And make sure all parts are in the same folder.
After opening the rar, copy everything from them into the "cache" folder I told you to create. After that, you should be ready. The first time you load your game, it will take awhile for the textures to load, however, any other time it should go by quickly.
Another tip for those wanting to play Majora's Mask.
It's worth noting that the textures are only supported by the PAL version of the game, it does work on the NTSC version but expect to find some graphical glitches. As for OOT, you should be fine.
I hope this helps those who wish to experience hi res on these two games, for people incapable of playing on Dolphin and also wanting more out of them. Now then, for some wonderful eye-candy.
Ocarina of Time
