OBS being inconsistent recording Dolphin

I want to record my Dolphin gameplay with OBS, and sometimes it works fine. But other times (this seems to persist for a while when it happens) it will only get a black screen. I don't change any settings when this happens, just finish my recording and the next one is black. And then I try restarting both programs multiple times to no avail. Any particular reason this is happening? The game is working fine but OBS only picks it up as a black screen.

in Dolphin, disable exclusive fullscreen mode in Graphics > Advanced and then in OBS do a desktop capture instead of a game capture.


OBS will screw up dolphin if it tries to hook directly into it. Most programs that hook into the rendering pipeline somewhere do because Dolphin Is Special.
