2013 does support XP, but you have to set it to do so, but dolphin wouldn't compile if you tried to use it
Obituary for 32-bit

Man this sucks how about the people that still use a 32 bit pc. I don't have 64 bit wish i did can't afford a new pc.

Your PC probably already has 64-bit. As the article said, anything that is 32-bit on the hardware level would suck too much to run dolphin well anyway. The last mainstream 32-bit CPU was the Pentium 4.

OH god. You should know that now Chinese people are still using Win XP, some are even using XP on a faster-than-my-win7-x64-installed-laptop PC. The only reason they may get a Win7/8 is when they get a new computer (and normally with 2GB RAM, so that it MIGHT get a x86 system rather than x64).

That's their problem.

Can OGL even run on XP in recent builds? China is already behind since XP doesn't support DX10/DX11 so no D3D for them. XP is old tech anyway and should upgrade asap else risk becoming a botnet/zombie since MS axed XP support and updates. A lot of Chinese XP installs are pirated *cough* which is not exactly something Dolphin developers want to support/encourage and dropping DX9 as well as 32-bit was necessary to fix some issues and for the project to progress. It's been 6+ years since Vista which was more than enough time to save up for an OS upgrade plus Microsoft offers discounts in some financially burdened countries to encourage legitimate installs. Everyone should be using at least 64-bit Windows 7 especially on modern hardware nowadays else they would just be gimping themselves and their overall system performance.
Guess that means no RPSX3 for the Chinese because that will be 64-bit only and likely only support DX10/DX11. Upgrade to something modern if given the Choice. If they had XP installed they can find some way to upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit or newer. The only instance where sticking with XP is acceptable is for businesses where the cost of upgrades, deployment and training is too high and even then businesses are receiving flak for hesitating to upgrade. 08-11-2014, 03:58 AM
They should just use their favourite Linux distro and if they hate Linux Ubuntu/Linux Mint.

I realize the drop in support happened years ago but I was just affected today by it.
Tablets with the Intel Atom quad core processor and HD graphics include the x64 instruction set an but because of the 32bit UEFI BIOS included on these devices, no one has successfully been able to install a 64 bit Windows Operating system. These include the Dell Venue, HP Stream, Winbooks, etc. Dolphin would gain a lot of popularity by continuing to release builds for the 32bit flavors of Windows as many of us could enjoy Gamecube games on-the-go with a tablet attachable controller. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_q...pfreload=1 06-11-2017, 08:44 AM
Yeah... not gonna happen. 32-bit support won't come back to Dolphin.
