What do you think about the Samsung Galaxy Tab S? I saw a reddit post about the Cortex A15 CPU running near full speed, but it linked to one of the Tegra TK1 videos on YouTube. The Galaxy Tab S is an octocore, running 2 quad core CPUs, Cortexes A15 and A7, through a chipset. Also having a seperate GPU chip, Mali-T628. I decided to mention it here because I heard they were very similar.

I'm getting a Galaxy Tab S this weekend, I can definitely test it and make it's own topic with said results! 07-30-2014, 06:55 AM

Does someone did test it?
Also where can we download the latest build? I can't find a link to android on the download page for the development version. Thanks [edited] I did ask on Nvidia Forum and they said that this build: https://buildbot.dolphin-emu.org/builder...se-android Run at 1fps on nvidia shield tablet 07-31-2014, 12:12 AM

This topic is about the new Nvidia Shield that will be releasing soon, it's actually a tablet, rather than a portable game console looking android device. The reason why the performance is so bad on the original Shield is because it doesn't even support OpenGL ES3. 07-31-2014, 01:07 AM

It was tested on a Nvidia Shield Tablet: Nvidia Forum Moderator Wrote:I've tried Dolphin on the Tablet and it was still very slow. I personally think that the Tablet has the hardware capability, but that the App needs to be updated to use it efficiently. I tried Mario Kart Double Dash for Gamecube and it was going at like 1 FPS. So not quite there for native gameplay yet. I'm hoping that the developer will tweak the Dolphin App some more. However how do I know if it's using ogl 4.4? The only backend that shows up is OpenGL ES (unless they're the same and I'm just confused. ). I'm getting some weird artifacts as well. Oh! I'm playing Mario Kart Double Dash if that helps. Screenshot: Spoiler: |
