Hello, my name is John.
I recently purchased an NVIDIA Shield Tablet K1. When attempting to run a game, it is very choppy and unplayable. I tried using different settings like Dual Core or Fastmem or OpenGL for the video backend, but that did not change the performance. I have the Dolphin Emulator (Alpha) APK v0.14 version currently, so I tried downloading the official version from the dolphin-emu website, 4.0-9440, to see if that would work better, but when trying to install, I get the message, "App not installed". I see that on another post, YellowDart said that that message would appear if the device does not meet the requirements for the Android version of Dolphin Emulator. which YellowDart posted here:
Android 5.0 or higher
A 64-bit processor
A version of Android that supports 64-bit applications
A graphics processor that supports OpenGL ES 3.0 or higher.
I recently had a conversation with NVIDIA, and they said my NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet K1 meets those requirements. So if that's true I don't know why I can't install the official Dolphin Emulator from the dolphin-emu.org website? What is the difference between APK versions, for instance the APK v0.14, with the official versions from the official dolphin-emulator.org website?
My NVIDIA Shield Tablet K1 can play modern games from the NVIDIA Shield Tablet K1 Shield Hub app for download/purchase, which are comparable to the Gamecube/Wii graphics. The Shield Tablet is made for tablet gaming so I don't see why it can't play Wii, or at least Gamecube games.
Is there anybody that has the Dolphin Emulator on their Android tablet, working well and able to play games? Need help/guidance. Thanks.
