Generally anything with 120GB bandwidth or more would be a nice video card upgrade for PC games and Dolphin.

Then get a GTX 560 or GTX 560 TI. Although you don't need to spend that much. Even a GTX 550 TI ($140) is more than enough for 4x IR. What kind of monitor do you have?

Acer S231HL 23-inch along side a Envision LM-700 (it is ancient but when I have to do school work it is very useful Big Grin)

Should I replace the old monitor with a new one or should I keep it? I mean it works pretty good for schoolwork.

The monitor itself won't be the problem, but the native resolution of the monitor is what would be best to set dolphin higher than. If it's a 5" 800x600 then it needs a less powerful GPU to drive it than a 50" 2560x1600.

Yes I was mainly concerned with the screen resolution. A 550 TI will easily meet and surpass your needs.

Well if this is what you mean: eVGA GeForce GTX 550Ti Graphics card - 1 GB - GDDR5 SDRAM

I am fine with it as long as it can handle all my games that my current card can (I am sure it can lol)

Sure. For high end pc gaming you might want to look at a GTX 560 or GTX 560 TI instead but if you're just using this for dolphin and lightweight modern games a GTX 550 TI is fine and will save you some money.
