Big Grin
hey guys, so I installed the emulator with my laptop running direct3D11, and when I try to set the graphic settings to nvidia 635m, the emulator crashes. I would use my intel HD, but the game that i'm trying to run (super smash bros melee) only runs at 50% speed when i try to run it on 720p resolution. Is there a settings problem with my emulator or does my computer just suck?
btw my laptop is running a quad core i7 3630QM and has 12gb ram

Do not select graphic adapter via Dolphin
You must use Nvidia Control Panel

Use these settings first
i7 turbo boost issue !
Melee is light-weight game , it run full speed 60 FPS (slowdown sometime) with 2.5x Internal Res (1600x1320) , no AA , 16x AF on my end .

You should :
_Install Intel Turbo Boost Technology Monitor 2.5
_Download throttlestop and run it

[Image: ThrottlestopTest_zpse80d6655.jpg]

_Enable "Clock modulation" , "Chipset Clock Mod " , "Set Multiplier"
More info about your CPU :
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Core-...051.0.html

_Set Multiplier to 32 or 33 , you will have 32 x 99.78MHz = 3192.96MHz ~ 3.2GHz

_Click "Save" , close throttlestop and then re-run throttlestop (If it still not work , press "turn on") . Keep it running when you're using Dolphin

Check your CPU temp via TS while Dolphin is running for 5-10 mins
If the temp is below 85C , then no problem (80C is still hot but it's acceptable . I prefer 70C or lower)
If the temp is above 85C , your laptop is overheating . Normally , CPU should throttle down (CPU clock speed goes down to reduce the temp) . TS stop this process temporarily
High temp will affect your laptop life time
Quote:should i close TS whenever i'm not using dolphin?
Lower CPU clock speed = lower power consumption = Lower temp
TS has 4 profiles : Performance , Game , Internet , Battery
You need to restart TS each time you change/switch profile
I set different multiplier for each profile
For Example :
Performance = 22x133MHz (2.9GHz)
Game (PC game) = 15 (2.0GHz)
Internet = 13 (1.73GHz - I don't use this profile but i create it anyway)
Battery = 9 (1.2GHz)

Battery Profile will keep my CPU power consumption to the minimum , laptop run really cool no matter what i do (watching video , music , powerpoint , photoshop...whatever)
