Hello!

I've bought two brand new Wiimotes with built in Wii MotionPlus, as well as two brand new nunchuks, all of them original controllers made by Nintendo. I can get the two Wiimotes hooked up to Dolphin just fine, but I can't for the life of me get it to detect the nunchuks on any of the controllers. I've tried both using "Real Wiimote" and "Hybrid Wiimote" settings, I've tried both starting with the nunchuk plugged out and connecting it after a while and starting with it plugged in, and I've tried disconnecting/reconnecting the controllers with alt+F5/F6. Nothing works. I'm currently using revision 3.5-1344, but I've also tested on a couple of older revisions with the same results.

I've had no trouble in the past connecting a Wiimote with a nunchuk I borrowed from a fiend, but that Wiimote did not include Wii MotionPlus. Are there any known problems regarding the use of Wiimotes with built-in Wii MotionPlus?

Thank you for your help. Smile

For me when I connected my wiimote with motion plus inside, it said 1 connected. but would disconnect every time I entered a game... In youtube videos when they Bluetooth it it doesn't say game controller. However mine did. Unfortunately I suffer the same problem as you.

Now I've tried the very newest revision, the 3.5 master revision, several revisions in-between as well as some older 3.0 revisions, I get the same problem with all of them no matter what I do. Has anyone gotten Wiimotes with built in MotionPlus to work together with nunchuks on Dolphin, or is this actually a severe emulation issue that might have to be looked into?

If you search on the forum you'll read that some people have issues with Wiimotes. But it works just fine for a lot of people too (several regular members could confirm this).

The first thing you can try is to use Toshiba stack (I'm gonna assume you're using Microsoft stack)

After a bit of hassle I managed to install the Toshiba stock, though the same problem still remains. I think I found the cause though:

After examining both Wii remotes thoroughly it seems that they are extremely well made third party replicas, not genuine Nintendo controllers after all. Basically I'm dumb and I got scammed.

I will buy one of the horribly overpriced Wii MotionPlus remotes with a nunchuck from an official reseller here and post the results. Seriously though, when converted to USD it costs 140$ for a single one where I live, it's madness. Sad

Unfortunately this is likely to be your problem indeed. 3rd party stuff usually sucks. Official Wiimotes are more expensive that's right but you will avoid a lot of issues.

Btw make sure if your Nunchuks are official or not. If they are you'll save a few bucks Smile

I had to reinstall the Toshiba stack so many times I lost count before it wanted to cooperate properly, but now I've finally gotten everything to work with a real Wii MotionPlus remote this time. Thank you for the help, it would probably have taken me a long time to discover the need for different bluetooth drivers.

The third party nunchucks work just fine with the original Wiimote though, so I kinda wasted some money on an official one. The end results were like this:

Original Wiimote + Original Nunchuck = Everything works
Original Wiimote + Third Party Nunchuck = Everything works
Third party Wiimote + Original Nunchuck = The Wiimote works, the Nunchuck doesn't
Third party Wiimote + Third Party Nunchuck = The Wiimote works, the Nunchuck doesn't

I gotta say these replicas look almost flawless, and they work perfectly well on a real Wii system, just not Dolphin. Those Chinese, man. D:

So is this my problem as well? I got my Wiimote (motion plus inside) at EB games and I cant really seem to find any thing on the remote that replicates a Third party remote. Where do you find where the Wiimote isn't a real Nintendo one. For me I get into the game and the controller disconnects straight away.

If it doesn't work it's likely to be a fake Big Grin .

More seriously:

Which game(s)?

Have you tried to press Alt + F5 (several times if necessary)?

You can also try to disable Wiimote speaker in Wiimote menu (uncheck "Enable Speaker Data")

Every Wii game, Zelda Skyward Sword, Mario Galaxy 1 and 2... that's all of them

I just tried then, several times, and still automatically disconnects.

Is it the remote? I have an IR sensor bar and Bluetooth. It says 1 connected when I pair up. Just doesn't work in game though...
