Hi,
after some intensive use with Monster Hunter 3, my nunchuk is showing problems with the stick.
If I push back, it still works as if I'm pushing forward. It no longer tells the difference back/forth and it's doing that with all games.
I've already tried simple solutions like "disconnect and reconnect the nunchuk" or "press A+B+minus+plus to reset it".

Since it is in passthrough mode, that can't have anything to do with Dolphin software, right?
I'm afraid it's a physical problem, though the stick feels normal when operating it.

Can I try something by opening it? Does it have mechanical or optical sensors?
Is it stuffed with little components that will spring up and scatter all around?

Thank you,
Lurka

Nope, but it was working fine until 3 days ago.

Bye,

A simple monobloc device, no internal trimming. Those white pins seem just pivot components.

The stick no longer works in the rear arc. If I slightly push it back, it detects it as pushing all forward.
I found that I can mitigate the issue by slightly pushing forward when connecting the controller, but overall it is hardly usable like that.
Could it be a firmware issue, rather than mechanical? Do you know any method to fully reset the controllers?

I found a Youtube video showing a "Wii remote event log" for Mac. Does something like that exist for PC?

Thank you,
Lurka

AFAIK there are no firmware differences between nunchucks (but don't take my word for it). So most likely it really is just a mechanical issue.

I bought a new one and it is working fine. I read of people who had to replace their nunchuck several times.
It seems to have a high rate of failure, especially when it comes to taiwanese reproductions like mine. Tongue
Luckily, the cost is about $6-7 on ebay, shipping included. Do you know if some brands are more durable?

I'd imagine official nunchuks are the best.

I got my original nunchucks the day the Wii came out, have been using them ever since, never had them fail on me.

Does Nintendo still produce them? Huh
