Nunchuk settings dissapearing

I'm trying to play a WII game that requires wiimote+nunchuk.
i'm trying to set the left side of my 360 controller (left stick/lt/lb) as the nunchuks stick/c/z. and the right side of the controller as the wiimote.

but every time i get ingame the nunchuk part does not work at all. the wiimote bits are fine.
then when i check controller settings

nunchuk isn't selected.

i have no idea what the problem here is. has anyone heard of this before?

This is going to sound silly, but did you save your input settings (instead of just closing the dialogs)?

Also, do you have a custom GameINI that overrides the input profile?

i saved it to a profile, and i pressed on "ok" not cancel. i assume that's what you mean?

as for the custom ini. i don't think i do, how do i check? i don't know how to make a custom gameini so don't know how to check.

So your settings should be saved…

If you don't know how to use custom GameINIs, then you most probably didn't use them. Sorry, but I'm not sure how that can happen. I just tried to reproduce this issue and I failed to. Are you using at least 5.0?

yeah i am, it's been stumping me too.

i actually just figured it out. i realized i didnt mention i was using savestates. so i was changing the setting to nunchuk, loading my savestate and then checking if it worked. apparently savestates reloaded the nunchuk setting to what it was at the time of the savestate. so i saved manually and loaded just fine.

derp, i'm an idiot.

oh well maybe it'l help someone in future.
