Nunchuk issue

On rev. 7719 and 432-dirty, I can't use my nunchuk to move my character for some reason. Dolphin recognizes it because I don't get stuck at a screen. After intro movie, I can only select map, inventory, and help. I am using an older nunchuk (RVL-004) i got used at gamestop. It is connected to a new Wiimote +inside (rvl-cnt-01-TR). I got the TR wiimote to work on both revisions but, once again, i cannot move or target. Is it safe to say I need to purchase a new nunchuk or is there a fix/setting I can apply? Thanks!

anybody have any advice? ill go in an hour to try a new one if i have to but was hoping there was a workaround
