I need some help finding the weak link in my setup. I can run New Super Mario Bros. Wii just fine if I set the resolution to auto - it gives me about 800x600 windowed and I get 55-60fps. But if I bump it up higher it runs too slowly to use (10fps at 1920x1080!)

My specs:
3.3GHz Phenom
8gb RAM
ATI Radeon HD 4200
Win 7 x64

Is my on-board graphics card just not enough to get things going?

Thanks!

Lol, ATI Radeon HD 4200 is not a gfx card .It's just a small chip on mainboard .Therefore,it is slow as hell
Buy Ati 5770 or Nvidia GTX 460

Yeah, I'm not a hardware guy Smile

Thanks for the tip. Can you tell me if this card will work with my motherboard?

Ati 3650 beat Ati 4200 .Ati 3650 is a gfx card and Ati 4200 isn't
Anyway, both of 'em can't handle 1366x768

Admin89 is right.. When comparing cards, rather look at the last numbers and not the series denominator... For example a Radeon 4890 will be many times faster than a Radeon 6550 (OEM).. Nvidia GTX 280 will be much faster than a GT520

Also that 5770 is a bit outdated. You can get a much better Radeon 6850 for just 10-20 bucks more and get a bundled game with it.

Or you can go with a 6790 for slightly less.
