NSMB for me drags at around 30%. Even GC Harvest Moon hangs around 75% much of the time.

I read here that 6505 is a recommended revision for speed. I tried to set it up per the performance guide, but since it's a somewhat older revision it's hard to be sure everything is set right.

Essentially, I have these things checked:

General:

Enable Dual Core on
Enable Idle Skipping on
Skip GC BIOS on
JIT Recompiler on
Lock Threads to Cores on

Use Panic Handlers on

screen resolution set to 1296 x 758

Plugins are Direct 3D9 and DSP-HLE

Graphics:

Aspect Ratio: Auto
Antistropic set to 2x
Anti Aliasing set to none
Load native Mipmaps on
EFB Scaled Copy on

EFB Scale set to Integral

Enable CPU Access on
Copy: Enable on, RAM

Disable Fog on

DSP:

Enable HLE Audio on
Enable DTK Music on

My specs are in my sig. Can anything be done, or is this just the way it is?

Thanks mucho in advance for your kind help!!

Specs:
Intel Core i5 M460 @2.53GHz
8GB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon 5470
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Disable Lock threads to cores and try to lower your graphics settings to native or lower and see if your GPU is causing the bottleneck.
Main Laptop:
Dell XPS 17
i7 2720QM @ 2.2GHz
8GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT 555M
Windows 7 64-bit

Okay, disabled lock thread to cores and set EFB Scale to 1x. That brought the first level up to around 70-80% Lots better, still irritatingly slow.

The second level, an underground level, drags along in the mid 40s.

Kirby's Epic Yarn now crashes at the beginning of a stage with this setting.

Harvest Moon trucks along near 100%, though.

Is this the setting I should leave it at? Or did you suggest that I do this in order to determine whether the GPU is causing the bottleneck in order to do something else?

Wow! Wind Waker cooks at over 90%, at least at the beginning part of Outset Island.

I find it hard to believe that NSMB is so much harder to emulate at a good speed than Wind Waker, but I guess that's the case.

Okay, this all did the trick, but the image is significantly less sharp.

Is that just the way it is?

Don't complain you got full speed now Tongue If you want better graphics Change the IR or other parameters one by one and if it's too much slow turn it back...
