NOTHING runs perfectly(yes, my rig is pretty average)

Dual core mode does exactly what it says- makes the emulator function using two of your processor's cores instead of just one. Disabling this will force it to run on just a single core, potentially slowing it down 50%, it WON'T make it faster... I'm still somewhat surprised. You SHOULD be able to get fullspeed out of SA2B at least. I was able to do it on a dual core laptop with just 2ghz and an integrated Radeon card. Unless there's something wrong with your PC, you should be able to at least match my speeds, if not beat them... Make sure you've checked Copy EFB to Texture (make sure it isn't on RAM, that's slow). And unless you play Mario Galaxy or something, you won't need Enable CPU>EFB Access either. Unchecking that can potentially give you a speedboost. Make sure all visual enhancements are set to off or lowest (filtering should be off, resolution set to default standard GC res). If disabling any of the resolution or filtering helps speed, you will also know what your bottleneck is- your GPU. The only other advice i can give you is to try running Dolphin without Aero or any of the fancy Windows themes enabled If your computer is GPU limited, this can help speed it up. I got a fairly decent speedup (maybe 5-10fps depending) by switching to the Windows Classic theme. My GPU is quite weak, so disabling the special Aero and window effects helped a lot. I just use classic all the time now since it's a lot faster. At any rate, your 9500 Geforce is better than either my desktop or laptop GPU's. So that's probably not your bottleneck if you're running with lower resolutions and no filters. I can only assume that any other speed issues could possibly be that you're not using Windows 7 x64. The 64bit version of Dolphin is considerably faster than the 32bit version. I switched between XP 32bit and Win7 64bit via dual boot on the same PC. x64 smoked the 32 bit version of Dolphin for me. I got maybe a 20-30% improvement in performance, no joke. 08-18-2010, 01:38 AM
sorry but you need a new rig if you plan to get 60 fps on most dolphin games because dolphin doesnt have much love for amd stuff, your vga its a bit lacking and to complete the cycle of doom you are using windows 32 bits

I can run a lot of games really well, several of the ones listed in the top post at fullspeed. AMD's are not "hated" by Dolphin at all. They are slower than some Intel processors, but not by a huge amount that cripples any AMD PC inherently and makes games entirely unplayable. His AMD does happen to be old though. A Phenom II X2 at the same frequency would give a very very respectable speed boost. A good AMD CPU clocked at a good enough frequency should be plenty to run most games full speed. Intels are better in general, but that's in general, not an inherent flaw in Dolphin. Other two things though are correct though. New GPU and an x64 OS will help immensely. And i don't claim to know how he got his games (piracy or his own purchased games), but dumped is something they refer to when they are dealing with cartridge games being copied to a PC. When you're taking data off a disk, it's usually called ripping. Not that it matters, i guess the overall idea is pretty much the same in general. 08-18-2010, 12:46 PM
ok, i have a 9500GT and that card can barely support 1280x720 (take it as the max resolution you can put on anything since going any further and youll get some FPS drop).
ok now, use D3D9 instead of Dx11 disable EURGB60 MOD and usb keyboard disable render to main window disable CPU->EFB acces Disable 16x anisotropy filtrering disable audio throttle and dont use openAL and use FPS for limit. Also in the nvidia control panel, lower everything to the min. i can run SSBmelee and Super mario sunshine at almost full speed (SSBM i get fullspeed with 2 vs only, add a 3 char and FPS goes down, but thats cuz of my 2.2 Ghz processor) 08-18-2010, 08:43 PM

I dunno about Mario Party 4 (not yet played any of those since 2 on N64 lol). But i can tell from experience that all of the games i've tried lose speed when you disable dual core mode. I tried it with Starfox Adventure to avoid a bug when it first started booting on Dolphin normally, it was extremely slow, probably about 25-50% slower depending. I've tried it with a few other Wii games as well just to see what it does to other games. I found the same results true. Unless there's some sort of bug in Mario Party 4, i can't imagine why it would be slower in dual core mode.
