Please forgive me for smelling so new. I've downloaded the latest version (3.0-377) of Dolphin for Mac Lion and it plays Wind Waker and SSBM wonderfully. However, I'd love to start using my DualShock3 and, while Dolphin recognizes the controller in the GCPad window [Input/0/Playstation®3Controller], it does not allow me to configure it. Whenever I click on a button to map it to the controller, it simply doesn't register anything. I've even tried right-clicking and mapping it manually to what I believe are the correct buttons (e.g. X = Button 15, O = Button 14, etc) to no avail.
I've done some searching through the forums and I keep running into the MotioninJoy DS3 driver, which doesn't have a Mac version and if I understand correctly I shouldn't need it anyway because Lion has a DS3 driver built in.
Any advice that would help a brother play some Zelda would be hugely appreciated.
Mother f-ing success! For any future troubleshooters, here's what I had to do:
1) Plug in your mini-USB cable into your computer and then into your DualShock3. Controller should start flashing, if not press the PS Button.
2) Pull out the controller and press the PS Button. This should prompt you with a Bluetooth password field. Enter "0000".
3) Click on GCPad in Dolphin and select Input/0/Playstation®3Controller as your controller (make sure that your controller is still on. If it isn't, press the PS Button and click Refresh)
4) You should now be able to config.
Not sure why the controller didn't work when it was plugged in via mini-USB, but apparently Bluetooth is the trick and I'm not complaining.
