Alright I am trying to connect and use a real wiimote for the first time. I have a compatible wiimote (not the TR one). It comes up as Nintendo RVL-CNT-01. I even got it paired with Dolphin correctly but when I start a game up there is no little hand on the screen and I cannot move the cursor.

That brings up a couple of questions... Out of curiosity, how does Dolphin know where you are pointing the Wiimote? o.o

And does this setup (once its working) work with Skyward Sword? I am assuming I need to connect a sensor bar of some sort? I tried playing Mario Galaxy and no cursor appeared to select which save to use, I didn't think Mario Galaxy used MotionPlus though. I see there is a Dolphin Bar but the reviews for it are not all that good. Is it even possible to connect a real wii sensor bar? o.O

I am using Dolphin 4.0 5815 btw.

Edit: OK, I need a sensor bar. I get it. I turned my Wii on to see if I could use the sensor bar attached to it and lo and behold, it worked. So I guess the Dolphin bar is the way to go...

The top of the Wii Remote contains an infrared sensor that detects where the IR lights in a sensor bar are. This is what lets a Wii or Dolphin use the Wii Remote as a pointer. The sensor bar doesn't even need to be connected to the device you're playing on, it just needs to get power for its lights from somewhere. If you don't need the Bluetooth capabilities of the DolphinBar, any sensor bar you can find will work (though ones with power cables that only fit in a Wii are inconvenient to use with PCs). MotionPlus doesn't really have anything to do with the pointer.
