Hello guys I'm new here (CRAZY NOOB) and I just got a Macbook Pro (with Retina display) for college and I think its pretty powerful enough to run dolphin. The problem is, is that Im trying to look for dolphin 4.0.2 to download but I cannot find it anywhere. They said I had to recompile it and such but I honestly do not understand what that means. So I download the latest development version and it crashes every time I quit. How do I get the best speed and performance off the emulator and also how do I stop the crashing. Thank you

Oh btw my Specs are 16GB 1600MHZ DDR3-SDRAM
Intel Core i7 2.2ghz(Turbo Boost up to 3.4)GHZ (never used the turbo boost don't think I would either)
Intel Iris Pro

Also Ive seen worse computers even worse macs run the game at max resolution and have no problems so i think I can well I hope.

Any OS outside of Windows will need to compile 4.0.2. manually. At any rate, it's very inadvisable to use 4.0.2. Compared to the latest development revisions, it's easily 30%+ slower Sad Who wants to use something that's inferior? Who can deny free speedups? Get the latest binaries for OS X here: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/

About Turbo Boost, it's something your CPU "just does". Unless you specifically disabled it in your BIOS or something, Turbo Boost will happen on its own without requiring the user to do a thing (except use the computer).

Ohh I see thank you very much cleared my head up! And also by the way do you know the best setups to get the best performance on the latest development builds, and also my smash bros brawl crashes after i stop emulation like the entire mac crashes and resets.

There really aren't any settings you need to mess with to get good performance. Unlike other emulators, Dolphin's defaults cover the bases. If Dolphin is crashing like that... just don't stop playing. Ever. :p

More seriously, try using other recent development build (like from 1 day ago, 2 days ago, 3 days ago, etc) as it might be some nasty bug that was recently introduced.
