I dont know much about that controller but if you get me some detail I may find a solution. More importantly is it driver based (did it come with drivers), did you install them? What OS are you on have you check Dolphin 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0 (do that all act the same).
So I have a black official gamecube controller hooked up through a mayflash adapter, the one with a game cube port, xbox port, and a ps2 port, it did come with a driver disc and it was a small disc but the cd drive I have pulls the disc in so it couldn't be inserted as it couldn't trigger the sensor. I am on windows 7 and I am running dolphin 4.0-648. In addition I used a ps2 controller with it and it worked great. Here is a link to the adapter if that helps http://mayflash.com/Products/PCUSB/PC035.html
