No wii motion plus in new GUI

I've been recently trying to get Skyward Sword to work with an emulated wii remote. I have discovered that in the new gui for setting up an emulated controller has no option for controlling yaw (turn left or right), it only has tilting for pitch and roll.

Everything I could find on setting up emulated motion plus has an older gui.

The new gui has this little checkbox for motion plus but it doesn't seem to change the menus at all and it doesn't seem to have any effect in game.

This is real frustrating. Is this a bug or am I missing something here?

Yawing is done by mapping the pointer. I don't have Skyward Sword but I think the best way to map is to only use Point and Swing. Be sure to increase Yaw and Pitch enough under Point so you can reach the edges of the screen in SS.

It seems like you are using a DInput and XInput device. If you want to use 2 controller, use 'All devices' under Devices. But I think using 1 controller is more practical.

The yaw on the pointer and the yaw on the tilt are different inputs. I hadn't thought to turn up the total pitch and yaw on the pointer and that seems to be a working yet kinda clunky work around.

The weird control bindings are because I use a steam controller and that has weird bindings but it's unrelated to this issue.

You'll need to increase Point's "Total Yaw" and "Total Pitch" settings to something like 45 degrees to reach the screen edges in Skyward Sword.

Thanks, I've been trying to understand how Dolphin did without Z rotation in the remote, but what about the nunchuck? and wouldn't supporting Yaw input conserve some remote battery power if the cursor movement is not heavily used?

battery usage in the wii remote is not influenced by the type of motions used. Data from each sensor is constantly polled and sent to the Wii. Whether the game does anything with that data at any given time is up to the game.
