No vibration in game

Hello.

I only use gamecube game.
I got a PS3 controller, running well in basic setup, using SDL.

In controller setup, I can successfully test vibrations.
I don't notice difference between  weak, sine etc.. but it works.

But I never feel anything in games (mariokart, Pikmin, wind maker).

Is that normal? Is there vibrations in gamecube games?
